উদিবে সে রবি আমাদেরেই খুনে রাঙিয়া পুনর্বার”।
১৭৫৭ সালের ২৩ জুন জাতীয় বেঈমানদের চক্রান্তে বাংলার স্বাধীনতার শেষ দিবাকর অস্তমিত হয়েছিল পলাশীর আম্রকাননে। দু’শো বছর ধরে বাংলার মানুষ আর সেই সূর্যোদয় দেখেনি। তৎকালীন বাংলার ৪ কোটি মানুষের সামগ্রীক জীবন ঘিরে নেমে এসেছিল দুঃখ,দুর্দশা,লাঞ্চনা,নির্যাতনের কালো আমাবস্যা। মীজাফর,উমিচাঁদ,রাজবল্লব,জগৎশেঠ,ঘসেটি বেগম প্রমুখ নির্বোধ,পদলেহী,বিশ্বাসঘাতক সভাসদ,আমলা,ব্যবসায়ী,বুদ্ধিজীবীরা স্বার্থের বশবর্তী হয়ে প্রিয় জন্মভূমির স্বাধীনতা তুলে দিয়েছিল বিদেশী বেনিয়া ইংরেজদের হাতে।
তাদের বশংবদরা ড্রাগনের মত বাঁধভাঙ্গা স্রোতে দন্ত নখর তেড়ে আসছে স্বাধীন বাংলাদেশে। ঘরে ঘরে মাকশার জাল ফেলেছে। নব্য বেনিয়ার দল সৃষ্টি হয়েছে। পররাজ্য লোভী হিংসা, বর্বররা ঘরে-বাইরে নেপথ্যে কলকাঠী নাটছে। এদের মুখে গণতন্ত্রের মুখোশ,কণ্ঠে সুললিত বুলি,গায়ে পরম বৈষ্ণবের নামাবলী। এই নাগীনিরা পূর্বাহ্নে যুদ্ধ ঘোষণা না করেই সন্তর্পণে একে একে হায়দ্রাবাদ,জুনাগড়,মানভাদার,গোয়া দখল করেছে। কাশ্মীরের জনগনের আজন্ম অধিকারকে কেড়ে নিয়েছে। জাতির ভাগ্যকাশে বড়ই ক্রান্তিকাল।
